Tribute to the Columbine High School Shooting. |
| The Day I Died I remember the fear as we hid under the tables, Wondering who would be next. I heard the footsteps coming closer. Suddenly, the light was hidden by a shadow Of a gunman that stood above me. I heard a shot and fell to the floor. I looked down. “Oh, my God I’m bleeding!” I screamed. I heard another crack. My world went black. Another pipe bomb went off. I looked down. I saw a lifeless body, surrounded by a pool of blood. “Wait! I’m too young to die.” I saw friends leaning over the body and crying. The two young men continued through the school, shooting. That was three days ago. The day I died, twelve other people died with me. Our parents cried, for they could not believe the worst. That day, I thought I went to school to learn. Now I know I went to school that day to die. |
