Poem About a Lone Wolf During Winter |
| The Lone Wolf I am the lone wolf Through the forest snow I roam My den is cold against my fur While my hungry stomach growls. The star-filled sky offers no warmth The yellow moon so full shines down I can’t find food to fill my hunger So in the cold darkness I let out a howl. I long for the warm air of spring When prey lets down its guard Going to the stream to drink After a long, warm winter sleep. They don’t feel the cold chill your bones Or fur freezing stiff so it sticks up Nor do they know the pain of hunger When cold winter makes your food hide. I am the lone wolf Through the forest snow I roam My den is cold against my fur While my hungry stomach growls. |
