Flashing images... Fading Light...

I take a step...... I take a breath..... I sigh....
Overwhelming thoughts inside me now
Flashing images fill my mind
The extent of thoughts consume my brain
Millions of moments that made my life
Is flashing behind my closed eyes
I open my eyes and start to run
The jolt of adrenalin...... cannot be undone
Pushing myself to the limits
Taking slow and consious deep breaths
The faster I run.... The less I see
Of all those overwhelming images inside of me
I see the water.... So peaceful and calm
The beautiful, cleansing blue is calling me
I dive right in, not thinking twice
And below the water.... as I sink... I gaze up to the sky
A soft ray of light filters through
I blow out life's breath from inside my lungs
Exhaling all that I know
I gently sink to the floor
My heart beat has slowed and is beating gently now
It becons me to take a breath
My mind is finely free
Its clear of all thoughts
Perhaps this is my escape
Oh water all around me, Thank you for the silence...
How beautiful this is to me...
I gaze up to the ray of light, filtering through the gentle waves
I remain motionless and completely at ease
No need for me to take a breath, for life has already filled my lungs
I start to push myself to the top... moving with grace I glide with ease
And as I surface... I take a deep breath.. my heart beats with joy
I smile.... and look up to the sky... and in that moment I ask just one thing
To remain in this moment... To remember this feeling of freedom...
