Every hill I climb
I find myself closer,
But shorter of breath,
The steps I take
make me feel the weight
on my shoulders,
I'm older now,
and don't know how
I find the strength to carry on,
When light is gone
and night appears,
The day is done and cold is near,
I fear that the dark is here to stay,
And the way I take is hard to find,
But still I climb....
I'm almost close enough to reach
the top,
and then across I see,
a breach of light that barely shines,
Casting shadows far behind,
Another hill
for me to climb,
