I’m gonna be somebody
someday; that’s what I say.
Yet years have come and gone,
with me no closer to my dreams.

Having faith like David,
facing down my Goliath,
I refuse to give up and fail.
I’m gonna make a difference.

I have the power within
to be whoever I want to become;
I'll continue to run the race,
being me – the one and only me.

As long as I have breath,
the fight will continue;
I'll remain strong because
I’m gonna be somebody…someday.
