How Did I Become An Atheist?


Let me begin by saying that I was a very religious person when I was still a boy and during my growing years. At that time I still believe in God and his power and I consider religion as an institution that would bring salvation to my soul; I fear the idea that one day when I died my soul will go to hell and there I will be tormented by the devil day and night throughout eternity. But as years passed by I begin to doubt the soundness of religious doctrines and the goodness of a loving father who was up there in heaven. In this document I shall explain the reason why from being a theist I became an atheist.

Obviously there is "No God

Dreadful wars, revolutions, genocide, abuse of children, rape, oppression, racism, greediness, economic inequality, illness, innocent children being born with congenital diseases, extreme poverty and all the misery in life. Why are all these happenings? Where is the loving and compassionate god who will come to rescue the weak and the oppressed, where is he? Why he is doing nothing to prevent all the sorrows and pains? You don't have to be a genius like Albert Einstein to come up with a logical conclusion that most likely than not there is no god. That the loving god portrayed by the so called "holy book" is just a figment of imagination and doesn't really exist. Now just in case I am wrong, let us assume that the theists are correct that there is a god who created everything and presently sitting there in heaven. My question now is, so what? The more we should not worship him because it only goes to show that he is impotent, useless and stupid, why? Since, a god who cannot solve these "simple" problems is not really a god at all. What is the purpose of worshipping that kind of god who could not even prevent the Holocaust, Rwanda Massacre and other horrors in the world?

The God of the Bile is a Sadist

Read the Old Testament with an open mind and you will come to the realization that Yahweh is a bloodthirsty monster who advocated mass murder, slavery, rape, inflicting physical injury, animal sacrifice and other type of sadistic acts. He cursed the first couple, sentenced them to die and drove them out of Eden just because they violated his rules. Wow! What a very loving father he is to Adam and Eve. Then he destroyed our language because the mischievous people at that time wanted to reach the heaven to look around. But the most horrible is the flood - God flooded the whole world and destroyed all life because the world is already filled with sin. This is very ridiculous because the powerful god opted to destroyed mankind instead of destroying and preventing sin to escalate. In the books of Kings, Judges and Chronicles the "loving" God repeatedly advocated mass murder to remove the infidels from his sight.

Jesus Christ is a Terrorist

I have discussed the modus operandi of the father let us now talk about his son Jesus. Unlike his father Jesus did not physically hurt any man according to the Gospels of the New Testament. But Jesus Christ was famous for preaching the eternal punishment called HELL. According to Jesus those who want to follow him must love him and loving him means you have to literally love him more than yourself and family. Otherwise, you will go to Jail and there you will be burned day and night. He did not hurt the people but he psychologically terrorized them by using the worst ultimatum in the world.

Closing Remarks

These are the major reasons why I became an atheist because I arrived at the realization that religion and the doctrine about god are based on imagination and lies. Instead of believing god and religion I concentrated on reading history, psychology and other logical books. The more I read books the more I understand the crimes of religion and the stupidity of the doctrine that it is preaching. Religion if you will check its record in history you will see that it is nothing but an instrument in making money and oppressing people. Now you still want to believe in God? If you do I suggest that you should also believe in Superman, Spiderman and Captain America since that what God is all about, plain and simple fiction.
