In our memory
Soldiers gone and heroes known, men who came to live and went to die, unshakable, unbreakable, resolves of iron pierced only by Turkish lead, gone again are the sons of mothers and fathers throughout the ages, long since forgotten the ground they drove their hands into when they were but kids, a piece of earth they once called home, long ago, when spirits drove them like life was all that ever was, only to lie still on a foreign land where poppies mark the fallen now, we will remember them, they have earned their place in the hearts of those they died to save, away from their homes in a land that leaves no trace, of faces only friends remember, and names time will not forget, we will remember them, lest we forget, lest we forget.
