This poem describes a period of re-birth following a sudden and unexpected event |
I brought truth but they didn't want to hear it I brought wholeness but they cut me into parts I brought my weaknesses but they told me I could only be strong I brought gentleness but they told me I was wrong I was a shapeless, free flowing entity but I was made to fit between the lines I had came with love and warmth but the heat was stomped out, buried into earth under cold hard slabs Flexed joints lose the yearn to stretch Broken limbs lay in despair Darkness encloses a failing heart An earthquake shatters the ground and rattles me to my core Thick grey stone cracks and caves under the rumbling force Now piece by piece I break through The earth that is ripping apart My head is bowed as breaking dirt tumbles and rolls off my bare back I feel the warm breeze at my neck My heart beats soundly My limbs find their place, my spine aligns I am lifting up up up Feeling light Being light I breathe the warm air deeply As I lift my head up to the sky My soul is naked Freely flowing No shapes, no lines Just me Wholly me, in my entirety My unassailable voice is clear: I am here |
