Lincoln and his sisters (and friends) try to figure out the new kid.
Sorry for the wait but here it is. Chapter 3 is here and it will be a lot longer than the other chapters. Im hoping to end this story by chapter 5 bit we'll see what happens. Enjoy.

"This is not a very confortable spot."
Lyle was sitting on a bench outside a park. He woulnd't have given it two thoughts if it hadn't been for the bluejay that caught his eye on a branch across the sidewalk. A beautiful scene it was, so beautiful, Lyle deemed is a privlage to add to his sketchbook.

Opening his sketchbook and readying his pencil, he flipped through the pages of at least a hundred sketches, and finally found a blank page. Taking his time and carefully dragging his pencil this way and that, the blank page looked as though the scene itself jumped into his sketchbook. Finished, Lyle held book away from his face to get a good look at his creation.

It looked swell, the bluejay sitting content on its branch, the cracks in the sidewalk shadowed, and the figure coming up the sidewalk was not too-
"Wait."
Lyle relized that he had accedently drew a person in his portrait. This irritated him. He looked up to see who he had drawn.
His culprit was a girl. A strange one he thought. Ripped sleeves, wierd earrings and a skull on her shirt. She was with some others dressed similarly, but he failed to mention them in the drawing. "How strange..." he thought.
He sighed. Seeing the girl enjoying a conversation with her peers depressed him. Lyle pulled out his phone and some earbuds, selected 'Lose Yourself' by Eminem (I dont own it by the way) and turned it up. Starting to walk back to his house, he tried to block out the things that would be waiting for him there. The music helped, it was his medicine for the sadness that overwelmed him sometimes.
"You better lose yourself in the music
The moment and never let it go!" The song blared. And Lyle did just that. He was so lost in the music and moment that he didn't the girl coming up to him.

"WHAT ARE YOU JAMMIN' TO THERE MATE?!"
Nearly jumping out of skin, he turned to see a familar face. It was that girl...
"I uh... well I was listenin' too..." Lyle sputtered and stuttered, trying collect his thoughts. Lyle only feared two things in life; broken pencils and girls. Especially pretty girls, and this one, at least to him, exceeded pretty. As he tried to produce a word or at least a comprehendable grunt, the girl gave him a curious and concerned look. "You ok there mate?" She asked.

Your blowing it Lyle thought. Just say hi or something. He opened his mputh to speak, but no sound came out.
And you blew it he thought. He wished people could just go through life without communication. Without feelings and relationships. That was scarier than broken pencils.

The girl gave a confused and cautious chuckle. "Heh heh, yeah so you left this on the bench." The girl pulled out his sketch from her pocket. "I thought you might want it back." Lyle frowned. "Thanks but no thanks. You might as well throw it in the trash." The girls mouth dropped. "Are you kidding me mate?! This is extremely good! It belongs in a museum or something!"

Lyle shook his head. "If you like it so much why don't you keep it?"
"Well, I guess I could..."
"You must." Lyle interjected. "Because your in it."
Oh no. Lyle made a slip. He regreted that desicion too late. The girl studied the picture a little more. She finally said, "That's me?" Lyle was kicking himself. Me and my big mouth he thought. Too ashamed to give an answer, he just nodded. The girl smiled, and said, "Wow, this makes it even better. I'll keep it."
Wait. Someone- no, a GIRL liked his drawing. Not only that bit actually want to keep it? Lyle felt something he had never felt before. He wasn't sure what to call this feeling, but he kinda liked it. The he noticed he was grinning. Wipe that grin off he told himself.
"Um, thanks for keeping it... I guess." He wasn't exactly sure what to say at this point, but the girl did.
"I'm Luna by the way." She said.
Luna. Different. He liked it.
Luna coughed a little and kinda stood there as if waiting for something...
Then it hit Lyle like a ton of bricks. Duh tell her your name eejit!
"I'm Lyle!" He yelled. Facepalming himself, he repeated in his normal tone, "Lyle is my name."
"Ello Lyle." Luna said. There was an awkard silence. Neither one exactly sure what to say next. Lyle decided it was his time to leave. As he turned to go, Luna blurted, "Do you want to come over to my house?"
This took Lyle by suprise for a third time. A girl he barely knew was now inviting him over to her house. "Well, I dont' know..." He wanted to go, partly because he was interested by this new girl and partly to escape home for what time he could.
Home. If you could even call it that. He decided he would go, what could it hurt?
"Sure, let's go."
Luna smiled and said, "Follow me!"
As they walked along, Luna tried to strike up conversation with the boy. "So, have you ever heard of Mick Swagger?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Whoa dude... this is incredible!"
"I know right, the kid is very good at drawing." Clyde and Lincoln were admiring their portrait that was found at Lincoln's front door as they walked to school. And calling the the kid's work "very good" was an understatement.

"What was the kid doing over at your place anyway?" Clyde asked.

"Luna said she invited him over." Lincoln said. "At first she said he didn't really like the idea, but I guess he had a change of heart. But the strange thing is he vanished without a trace."

Clyde shook his head. "That's one strange kid. Cool, but strange..."

As they approached school, the boys were met by Ronnie Anne, Lincoln's part time bully and girlfriend. "What's up Lame-O?" She asked with a sneer.
Lincoln ignored the insult he had become so accustomed to being called and showed Ronnie the drawing.

Her eyebrows perked a little. "Wow, didn't know you could draw this good..."
Lincoln cut her short. "I didn't, the new kid did."
Ronnie laughed, " I know."
Seeing the boys confused faces, she reached into her backpack and pulled out a piece of paper. As she unfolded it, a drawing appeared. It was a drawing of Ronnie laughing with her friends under a tree of somekind.

"Pretty isn't it?" Ronnie teased. "Lyle said it a perfect scene and had to capture it."
"Who's Lyle?" The boys asked simotaniously.
The girl looked at them as if they had asked something stupid... oh wait. Clyde and Lincoln both went "Ooohhh."
"Right." Ronnie affirmed "Well I better get going. See ya around." She waved as she left.
"Wait!" Yelled Lincoln. "Do you know where we can find Lyle?"
Ronnie yelled back, "I don't know, I haven't seen him at all this morning!"

"Well that answers one question." Lincoln turned to Clyde. "Now we just need to find out the other part of this mystery..." Their was an awkward silence between the two boys as niether one knew exactly what was left to discover about the kid.
Brrrrrriiiiinnnngggg!
Time for class.
