Consistent number of syllables in each line {19 lines} Tercets followed by a quatrain. Two repeating rhymes and two refrains. The first and third lines of the opening tercet are repeated alternately in the lines of the succeeding stanzas The refrain serves as the poem’s two concluding lines in the quatrain.
