A drizzle lightly paints the scene
in light and dark and in between.
The colors seem to wash away
leaving a world in shades of grey.
I sigh as I take in the sight
depressed until my mind takes flight
weaving through the misty trace
to another time and place.
Heaven’s moisture now descends;
foretells a flood that never ends.
The animals line up in pairs
from ants to pure white polar bears.
The torpid air clings to the leaf
and pools together in relief
where nature and man coexist.
I feel a smile; I can’t resist.
A drizzle lightly paints the scene
in light and dark and in between.
I watch the argent droplets fall.
It’s not depressing after all.
