In the courtyard
I stand patiently
Through all the seasons
I am the crowning glory
Of this little piece of heaven on earth
Spring has come once again
And with the sun
My branches fill with pink delights
I can feel my heart flow
Filling to overflowing
With a love that transcends time
Gone is the winter
Where only snow and ice
Coat my branches
Where fog hangs
Like a depressed dog
Where the wind rips at me
With a viciousness
That comes from misery.
Now I hear joy in the air
I feel the breeze
gently caress me
And know I am loved.
