Poem describing biblical thief/murderer, Lighthouse poetry contest |
Barabbas: murderer, thief, insurrectionist Harbinger of grief, death, injustice Provider of cruelty, dissent, and bloodshed Barabbas, master of violence and treachery Alas, my savior did die for thee Barabbas: degenerate, foe, tyrant Wretched, corrupt, belligerent Perhaps withheld, opposed, defiant Barabbas, condemned, wanton and guilty Alas, my savior did die for thee Barabbas: tormenter, liar, cheat Fouled soul, beyond all reach To Hell, he must be impeached Barabbas, withheld from grace and mercy Alas, my savior did die for thee Barabbas: accused, exposed, sinner Eyes opened, realized, as in a mirror Selfish, immoral, without virtue Thyself, dead, lost in depravity Alas, my savior did die for me 20 lines |
