What do you do when your first grandchild is born? |
"Hello, sweetie, how are you feeling today?" ask Teresa. Looking down at Ann's stomach, she reached down to rub it. Kelsey kicks in response to her Nana's touch. Teresa leans down asking, "And how's my little angel doing today?" Kelsey kicks back in response. Teresa's eyes light up and her mouth drops open, gasping in delight. "Mom, Ann is in labor and we were on our way to the hospital," says Jeremy. "What are we waiting for let's go," yells Teresa, grabbing her purse and heading for the car. It has been 5 hours since Ann's labor started and Jeremy has been pacing around in circles. His eyes widened, he's going to be a daddy anytime soon. Jeremy looks at his mom and ask, "Where's Dad at?" "I have no idea, but I have left messages for him at work to call as soon as possible. They will let him know that we are at the hospital and what the room number is," replied Teresa. The phone rings, Teresa answers it. "Is she here?" Michael screams into the phone. "No, she is not, where are you?" asks Teresa. He is two hours away, she tells him to be careful driving. It's only been an hour since Michael called and the labor pains are getting closer. Ann has a very intense labor pain, Jeremy is on one side and Teresa is on the other. The door swings open, hitting the wall with a loud bang. Jeremy looks up at Teresa. "Dad's here!" Teresa shakes her head yes. Michael slides across the floor as if he's sliding into first base, stopping in front of the bed. Michael's eyes widen, his breathing is heavy, due to him running from the parking lot. "Is Kelsey Rhea here?" Michael yells out. Word count: 296
