Okay here's the challenge, create something new from the last line of another poem. Try to be creative, give the words a new direction, turn it into something different!
All entries must be newly written for the contest and start with the prompt line and follow any form requirements when applicable.
Form: freestyle
“For only in silence will you fail love’s test.”
I read this piece of advice
Written by a sage who oftentimes
Spouted advice unsolicited.
This time it struck a chord in my heartstrings.
Recently, I recognized
That my feelings for you
Are much deeper than the platonic friendship
We have shared since we met.
Circumstances have been such that
Neither of us were ready to care for
Anyone again. But that has changed.
Plain and simple, I love you!
I would shout it from all the rooftops
If that would mean that failing loves “test”
Would be impossible.
So, I simply will say these three words to you,
I love you!
