A short beginning to my 8 novel series
The Seven Daughters Of Draponia

Planet Draponia

Margo the Oracle sits in meditation in a clearing. The Forest of Healing surrounds her. She can sense the storm brewing on the horizon, but she knows this may be her last chance to speak with the Goddess. Her life force has been rapidly expelling from her body.

Margo lifts her hazel eyes to the darkening sky, thunder can be heard in the distance. Her long silver hair flows down her back. She watches as lightning streaks across the sky, the wind picks up, causing the tops of the trees to bend to its will. She knows the time has come, she must speak to the Goddess.

"Goddess hear me... Goddess tell me... Goddess come to me..." Margo begins her chant. The storm moves in quickly thunder rolling, lightning explodes through the black night. Purple leaves fly from the trees, blown off by the ever increasing wind. Over and over Margo repeats her chant.

Margo bows her silver head, lips moving silently . The heavens open up, a deluge of rain begins to fall. The Oracle never moves, the downpour soaks her violet dress causing it to cling like skin to her tiny body. This meeting will be her last, she must find a way to help the people of Draponia. The Drakoons are taking over everything.

Drakoons are evil creatures that leave nothing but ash in their wake. They look like human men until they are ready to attack. Their true form stands at 7 foot tall, enormous black wings protruded from their backs. They have a long scaly tail with three prongs at the end. When a Drakoon feeds, they wrap their pray in the wings and strike with their tale. They insert the first two prongs into the body draining the pray of bodily fluids. The third prong then infuses an acid into the system turning everything into dust. There is no body, no bones, nothing left.

"Goddess hear me... Goddess tell me... Goddess come to me..." She repeats louder, suddenly the rain stops and a bright light appears in front of her.

"Margo the Oracle, you have summoned me?" A sweet soft voice asks. The Oracle looks up from her spot on the ground, the Goddess stands before her illuminated by the heavenly lights of Arconia. Her golden gown glitters like diamonds in the sun.

" My Goddess, our people are dying by the hundreds. The Drakoons are out of control, we are worried. Will there ever be peace again?"

"Margo hear me well," The Goddess begins. " Peace will once again reign, however first there must be great tragedy. The Seven Daughters of Draponia, if they survive will defeat the Drakoons. At this time the daughters are growing in the wombs of their mothers. You must find these women and protect them, for if even one daughter is lost than all is lost.

"On the night of the Winter Solstice, the daughters will be born. A great battle will be fought as the mothers begin their labor. The Grandmother’s shall travel long distances to protect the Daughters. Twenty years of war will rage. The daughters will unite with their mates. Only then will they return to Draponia for their true power to be revealed. The Drakoons know of this prophecy, and they are trying to destroy all chances of it coming to be." The Goddess begins to fade as she completes her speech.

"Thank you Goddess." Margo bows her head. Tears mingles with the rain that is falling once again.
