This is a poem about my Ex that I've broken up because of a misunderstanding of sorts. Regret pokes at my thoughts like a bug flying around your face that you just can't seem to shake off. There's no one I've loved or trusted more than the one guy. There's a spark between us that neither of us deny of itemize. It's there, and I can feel it.
It’s funny how
The thoughts reeling
In my head always seem
To revolve around you.
Funny that after
All those goodbyes
We’re still here.
Just you and me.
I say I can’t stand you,
But you’re what
I stand for.
Put aside my emotions.
One less roller coaster
To ride and regret.
But those boxed away
Surface and the ripples
They make are
Too much to bear.
We don’t talk much,
But when we do,
I feel buzzed.
You say it’s nice to
Be able to talk
Without our past
Drama taking over.
But what good is a
Friend when one longs
For something more?
One who denies it
And one who hides it
Isn’t how it should be.
One thing I’ve learned
Is that emotions Get me nowhere.
