a perspective on the relativity of time
with each day, we can look back and remember a time that we sat in a moment we believed would never end. a moment when we wished we could fast forward to a time when it was all behind us. this leads only to the drawn conclusion that more of these never ending moments await us. we need to hold to every moment as if it is the only moment; it is.

its funny to think how life passes by regardless of how impossible it seems. in a personally devastating moment, the world should collapse into itself and cease to exist. no longer could the world carry on after such heartache. but it does, and it will. the present moment is one we once hoped for, one we will grow from, one we will long for and one we may forget. to keep in touch with the present moment is to remember that it passes. to be mindful and present is to brace yourself for future heartache and remain grateful for the heartache of the past. life makes one promise: it passes us by.

the trick in life is the speed at which it passes. one hour, sixty minutes, three thousand six hundred seconds. it should be structured, it should be logical. how do the moments we hold our breath the longest feel as though theyre infinite, feel as though time has stopped. the days that we enjoy the most seem to end abruptly. and yet, no matter how far along in life, no matter how long the moments have been, we can all take this moment to accept the fact that all of the seasons that have passed us yet have done so in the blink of an eye.
