snowtime

a storm has ravaged spring's
bashfilled entrance

the bride of summer
made frigid with a stark sharp wind

winter's wind
and last icy breath

freezing flowers
snapping dreams at night

with the dull cuff
of breaking bones

i wake to the sweat
of hail stones
