vampire bite marks .

i have vampire bite marks on my arm
two little white dots on my wrist
just above where the rivers of veins begin & branch out into my palm
they’re small marks that no one would notice
unless pointed out
they blend in with the paleness of my skin
but i see them
every time i look down
(often)
they shimmer in the sunlight
like dull crystals
or flecks of ivory glitter

-there is no beauty in self harm
