Through the battles that I face,
the pain that always seems to be,
there is only one thought that keeps me going:

Tears have flowed into rivers,
my heart has cried out in anguish.
Only time has proven to me

Joy has been slow to come
and victories even slower.
To a life torn with strife and hurt,
my heart will sing again.

I am finally free of all the hate,
unforgiveness no longer lives here,
the healing has begun, and
