A Child's Place

I reside
In my guardian’s mind
Wedged between grey muted cavities
Of the frontal lobe


Deep rivers
Of trauma and fear
Impose my abode
And wash away my existence


Sticky walls
Contain and maintain my brain
In sync with what they say
And what they want


Heat pressures
And molds me into
Their tiny perception of
What and who I am


A chronic catalyst needing control
A child.
