Entry for the 75 Word Contest.
DOORBELL

Last night the doorbell rang,
But I didn’t know what for.
There was no one out there
When I went to the door.

It was still dark this morning,
When that doorbell rang again.
Best be someone there I thought,
My patience was wearing thin.

That button is illuminated and
I found what it was all right.
It must have kept that bird awake,
‘Cause he was pecking at the light.
