The loneliness of an aging mind
In the chair backed up against the wall

No ability to remember at all

Alone in the chair

Loneliness in the air

No one is within arm’s reach

Having a now subdued speech

Thoughts running while the body stays idle

Somehow missing the days in the cradle

Meaning of life has a different direction now

Body shape formed in a constant bow

Floor tiles now fill my vision

Losing all of my ambition

Things are done and said without any regard

Holding on to thoughts of being in the yard

Crying on the inside so no one sees the sadness

It is now all that encompasses

No one to hear and no one to call

Here I wish to die in the chair with its back against the wall
