I was tasked with writing a love poem to an inanimate object and/or idea
You sparked this madness with alluring razor smiles
And a gnawing ennui
Dazzled by your apathy, I picked up your habit.
I stretched my psyche miles

To accommodate
Your persistent need for attention,
24/7
I wait here patiently.

Ready to accept every burden;
Pat you on the head, and tell you you’re special.
You ignore my struggle and wrestle me into submission.
I spill my blood over concrete gardens for you,

I sacrificed my humanity for you
I bent over backwards just to have a friend
Yet you refuse to portend even the slightest sign of reciprocation .
If I gave you my all, would you give me even the tiniest bit of you?
