This is Berk. It snows nine months of the year and hails the other three.
Berk itself is cold most of the year. In summer, the days are long, with much shorter nights. The island contains dense forest, hot springs, and beaches. The village is the most highly developed area, but there are farmers and craftsmen further out. The plaza contains the forge and an assortment of other shopkeepers and tradespeople, such as the butcher and the baker. There are also homes closer to the smithy.
It’s an open space with a huge oven. Weapons line the walls and clusters of maces hang from the ceiling. Barrels are filled with weapons as well. Gobber frequently leaves his prosthetics scattered around the smithy. The roof has missing slats that let in the draft. Gobber has a table he frequently uses. There’s a hatch-like opening where people drop off and collect weapons. The structure is old and weatherbeaten. It’s situated near a cliff. There is a whetstone and a large stone clamp.
