The storm is affecting the cat's owner
"The storm is getting worse." I think to myself as I watch the rain from the window and, hearing the thunder. I close the curtains and gaze at the darkness in my room, I feel so alone in this big house. I jump as the sound of the thunder surprises me. Holding tight to my jacket feeling the cold getting under my skin. I go to bed and close my eyes. I hear the creak of the door as it opens slowly. I pull the covers tightly over me and sneak a peek, I see red eyes staring back at me. I jump off the bed terrified and switch on the lights. Chico the cat is staring back at me. "Chico you scared to death," I say as I burst into laughter.
"But you didn't die!" I hear Chico talking back to me.
I look around making sure there is no one else but the cat.
"Yes, it's me talking to you and I am hungry," Chico says staring straight at me. He twitches the tip of his tail and head-butts my leg. "Come on, don't just stand there and give me some food!"
He leads the way to the kitchen and jumps at the counter surrounding the bag of his dry food.
I open the bag and pour some of it into his bowl. He looks at me holding eye contact and blinks at me. “Thank you Witch!” and the storm stops.
