On St. Patrick's Day, all the pubs were closed
sad to say,
everyone was excited to party
with all the pubs in town,
"let's go for a drink,
on St. Patrick's Day!"
Now it's just
"let's have a drink at home,
if we have some
on St. Patrick's Day"
It used to be a tradition,
and I thought traditions can't be stopped
under any circumstance at all
through which scenario can we not.
A glass of whiskey here
and eventually no glass there,
is there a doorway we can pass
to see the light stab through
our drink?
With all pubs closed
the night shut down as well
no stars to lay beside at night
and no cigars to light the musty air,
smoked and sweet.
The pubs now,
surrounded and raided by
invisible zombies,
keeping the humans from daring themselves to
touch the food
the drinks,
the tables dusted with year-old
ashes.
"When will time pass"
"But it already did!"
"Weeks without drinks isn't really
our thing."
It won't pass away,
unless we move first.
