If I Weren't Human

If I could be the weather,
I would be rain.
Then I could touch you.
Because I know you don’t mind,
Going outside without a coat on.

If I could be an element,
I would be oxygen.
The air around you is what you breathe.
Oh, how wonderful it would be
To know you live each day fully.
I could be around you always.

If I could be technology,
I would be your cellphone.
So I could hear your voice, each and every day.
You could talk for hours,
And it would never get old.

Out of my love for you,
I would be all these things at once
Simply because,
Being human doesn’t seem enough.
