Days of Future Past (141 words = 324-183) |
The blast of a car horn startles me. I get up and whistle "time to get away' like I do each day and put on another pot as I prepare my evening work. These are the hours most convenient for my morning obsessed associates in La La Land and night-owl-hoots of Hong Kong. Here, the night-workers scurry to their jobs as day-workers trudge home, their energy wound down. They're drained. Not me! I'm feeling perky. Much less sore than before. Maybe I'll sit on the balcony and work while the sunset serenades me. I boil coffee in the ibrik and add two lumps of sugar. Not that I need the boost I watch restaurants fill up. Soon people will sit in the hush of the park as this day cools off. Lamplights will come on. I wait for the sunset.
