Once there was a turkey as wise as one could be,
Each year at Thanksgiving he’d pretend he couldn’t see.
When someone came to buy one for that yearly meal,
He would stumble - evade the agriculture seal.
No one wanted a blind bird, must be very old,
Old meant really tough, at least that was what was told,
So old Tom kept his feathers – watched all his friends leave,
Too soon time passed him by and he began to grieve.
All the other turkeys were now younger than he.
The reason for my story, I hope you can see,
The moral simply being, it’s hard to go on,
When you’re the oldest turkey and all your friends are gone.
