A lifelong intimacy exists between a writer and her craft. |
The Quill of Plenty The act of writing is a life long closeness. Long ago; alone and laughed at by “cool cruel teens”. Diaries of free expression were a hug of wholeness, for one lost in a cold world of trendy scenes. Crammed classes; race to finish high school. College; discovering a world of exciting themes. Love found, wrapped arms about me, life's partner to share. On my 19th birthday, a lil' redhead arrived for tender care. Life; a journey, navigating smooth and rough waters. Occasional crashes into scary high tides. An adventurous short story, flights into fantasy skies. Writing always comforts even if my muse takes a dive. Over sixty years, pen to paper, lost friends, new beginnings. Many fell short of expectation, few were award winning. The beautiful mystery of connecting phrases, giving character stories; thoughts and plots still amaze. Finding fellow imagineers with creative neurons, gifts me friendship I can always count on. Love of the written world, its magical delivery, still a lost girl, I call on my quill to craft life's mysteries. By Kathie Stehr Jan 24, 2021 |
