I have to say, this is the first book for a long time that has made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. By chapter nine I had to put the book down, this is not like me at all.
Even the back cover introduction made me shiver. This is Rachel Ryan's first novel, set in Ireland, a country with a unique culture of its own, which is brought out so well in this book, using the accent of the people in their dialogue, and the backstory that this is based on. It is disturbing for its honesty and the genuine story it tells, but also because of the way it's been told. It sets up so many possibilities for the situation that it leaves you wondering what is going on, being pulled in so many different directions
I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone who likes a good mystery and who likes a little bit of fear with their book and cup of tea.
