To indulge on a quest of discovery,
shelves of knowledge await me.
Shakespeare, Twain, Milton, Keats;
lives to reflect on, examine, foresee.
Holy church of authors, poets, illustrators.
Ancient texts, reveal lives and periods of time.
Questions answered, puzzles unwind.
Seek trees of wisdom, wise branches to climb.
Leather bindings, musk of history.
Sensual feel of pages reveal truth, mystery.
If a book does not speak, 'tis abundance to seek.
No answers, you say, blindness cripples thee.
Romance, suspense, history, medicine;
subjects surround, time flies, wise eyes seek.
Decisions must be made, a busy half a day.
Libraries for book lovers are Santa’s wished for sleigh.
May we forever pay homage to the art of learning.
Teach children to read, thrills of new stories.
Discover truths hidden away for so many.
Our world can not thrive deprived of literary glory.
