Emotionally Scarred

I am void of all emotion

No tears of joy nor gloom

Although I'm here with many people

I am alone within the room

Life keeps blocking me from living

With each move I make stopped cold

"But you have to keep on trying"

Or at least that's what I'm told

How long should people live like this

With their hearts and minds both numb?

Is there hope for all that feel like this?

Or only just for some?

We're told that time can heal all wounds

Despite how deep the pain

But in the end when all is done

It's the scars that still remain
