My Anti-Muse

Anti-Muse


He was smooth and polite
but easily frictioned.
He could spout with delight
all manner of fiction.

He imagined things
and took it all personally.
His rudeness and spite easily
fouled up the night.

With time, perhaps,
he'd become a nicer person.
One who'd think
before saying unkind things.

I've questioned myself as to why
I'd keep this 'friendship'.
Truth be told, he made riled my anger,
but I wouldn't retaliate in kind.

Instead, I found that I put my thoughts down
...page after page.
This anti-muse
had cured my writer's block.
