It is in the Bible how not everyone who calls upon God will enter into heaven. I think it is a sad thing when those people get to Heaven to stand before God and face his wrath. It is not going to be pretty, and they will be in for one very big nasty surprise. God is a God of love, hope, mercy, and peace, but He is also a God of righteousness. He can not stand to be in the presence of unrighteousness. He is Holy, good, and just. Instead of wiping out sinful humans because of their sins, He sent his Son, Jesus, born from a virgin, to live and die for everyone’s sins. Jesus was resurrected three days after his death. About a month later He ascended on a cloud back to Heaven. We are then, by faith through the grace of God, saved from God's wrath when we repent, turn from our sins, and live for Jesus. There are some people who would like to believe that you say a simple prayer with the stated belief in the fact that Jesus is God's son who died and rose again to save us. Then they go on their merry way and never change their behavior. They continue cussing and cursing. They don't stop abusing others. They rarely show up in a church or open their Bible to read it. They pray selfish prayers to get the desires of their fleshy lusts. They pray every now and then when they want something from God, they acknowledge Him. Your works can not save you. However, the way you act is based upon your beliefs. If you believe a chair looks wobbly and may not support you, you will avoid sitting in that chair. If you love and fear God with reverent fear, then you will at least attempt to keep God's commandments. Being saved from the wrath of God is more than just religion. It is about being able to have a personal relationship with Almighty God Himself through the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. You can not have a relationship with God when He is full of rage against you. God is also referred to as a consuming fire. He would be completely unapproachable. When you come to Jesus through repentance of sin, His blood covers you and your sin. The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us with God. As a result, we are then able to approach God directly in a relationship with him. How do you form a relationship with anyone? You form a relationship with someone by spending time with them. You don't do things that are offensive to the person. You show them respect and that you value their relationship by honoring their requests. You try to avoid making them angry or offending them in any way. We should approach a relationship with Almighty God this way too. Do you want to know God and for God to know you? Spend time with Him. Read and study the Bible. Pray. Praise and worship him. Obey His commands. Learn to listen for His voice as He speaks to you. If you don't have time, make time! This is the most important relationship you can have in your life. It is vitally important. Your soul’s destiny depends on it. Do not go to your grave without knowing God or having Him know you. If you do not get yourself into the right relationship with God, you will be in for a big, unpleasant surprise. Notes ▼ |
