Building new casinos is a Las Vegas thing,
Out where the desert meets the mountains.
Under skies of neon stars,
Nevada’s trails and Boundary Peak
Daunt even the toughest climber.
A 10,000 foot rugged slog
Rising from the valley’s rocky floor.
You can see everywhere from up there.
Park MGM beckons with lights and flash,
Easy come and easy go; cash flows.
Air beautiful and sweet; piped in,
Keen cuts the wind on Boundary Peak.
Never have I needed the crowds,
Easing down the gilded pavement;
Vegas’ teeming mobs chasing money,
An illusion that troubles my mind,
Destroyed by climbing Boundary Peak.
Another old casino closes its doors.
