A DAUGHTER

In today's age we all have innumerable examples of women who have broken the glass ceiling in numerous fields. Women have proved they are no less than men when it comes to showing their efficiency. Yet,even today there are millions of women who are restricted and their world revolves around their husbands and children and parents. Today I have one such story to share who rose from humble beginnings to success.
A family had a son and a daughter. The daughter was brilliant in her studies and had was extremely intelligent. Yet by class 12 due to financial strains, the daughter was forced to drop out of her school because her elder brother would have to be financially supported to pursue engineering. The daughter was married off to a wealthy family. Her husband was a surgeon. Her in laws were very supportive about her studies and continued to support her and encourage her to complete her last year in class 12. She began studying and working hard. In the meantime she became pregnant. Now her world came crashing down. It was as if her last ray of hope to do something worthy in her life shattered to pieces. But that was not the end. After her delivery, the supportive mother in law agreed to look after the child while she would complete her class 12. She worked harder this time and secured the 10th position in the state. She continued her studies.. completed her Bsc, Masters doctorate and post doctorate and finally secured a prestigious job at the isro. She has been marked as one of the top 10 inspirational women of the country. She was invited to a talk show where she acknowledged about how her mother in law was the sole reason behind her success and her parents did not even consider her worthy to study further.
It is surprising to see how our own parents fail to see our potential sometimes and some stranger sees it and helps us to rise and shine in our lives. She is the pride of our nation and our state. I look forward to finding more women who by their sheer determination and grit rise to great heights.
