Lost and forgotten. Memories and ghosts
Look outside, the
machine has whirled
into action
and distraction.

Outside living
we’ve been missing.
Dancing jolly,
free and folly.

But what of those
for who time froze.
Blocked out of sight,
locked in by fright.

Day by day their
lives disappear;
a risk too severe.
Each breath too tight.

Those all but lost,
their feelings tossed;
their safety scoffed.
The Forgotten.

They gave up life
when risk was rife.
Those two years, Lost.
A life paused.

The Forgotten.
Life so rotten.
blackness seeping
daily reaping

Lost and forgotten.
Memories and ghosts
of the ones who hid,
all so we could live.
