First day of school blues

First day of school blues

Not everyone likes school
Not everyone finds learning fun
My first day is coming up and I dread it I do
I don’t know what I am going to wear
I don’t know if I am going-to be liked
I don’t know if I will like my teachers
Oh I have the first day of school blues
Why can’t I just stay in bed
I think I will have a fever that day
So maybe my parents will say just leave her in bed
No that won’t work they will check my head for sure
Maybe I will have a tummy ache instead
No that won’t work they will give me the pink stuff
I will just walk real slow to class and be late
No that won’t work then I will have to stay after
Maybe I will just go and see what happens
Maybe I will just get it over with
Oh I have the first day of school blues
Mom got me a kicking new outfit
Well maybe it won’t be so bad
Dad fixed my favorite breakfast pancakes and eggs
Well maybe it won’t be so bad
I get to the school right on time
I open the door and there’s a man from the zoo
He has a few really neat animals to show
The teacher say today we are going to learn all about some of the animals at the zoo
Well really that’s not so bad
What do you know my blues have gone away
Well at least for today anyway
Oh no what about tomorrow it will start all over
