Conspiracy Theory

Conspiracy theories are just one of many indicators of an architecture of discourse that is both hyperventilating and convulsing, as the necessary fundamental agreements that hold a culture and society in one piece start to come unstuck. The whole structure of legitimacy and consent is disintegrating.

No one is immune to that, which should not be surprising once one realizes that things are going on around us that would once have seemed so bizarre and unlikely, that they would have once been restricted to soapbox cranks.

If you imagine that our systems of social and economic administration are being run by escaped asylum inmates, that is very likely because it seems to be true.

In such circumstances, one does not have to be a certifiable fruitcake to extrapolate just a smidge too far and end up going over an existential cliff, because said architecture of discourse is sliding off its foundations and heading in that direction anyway.

My favorite 'conspiracy theory' is that the event streams/narratives that are now overtaking us started in earnest when the shocking news of Donald Trump's presidential race victory erupted into our lives. There was a stunned silence from the losing side as it digested the seemingly impossible, but indisputably successful rebellion of the hayseed hinterland rustbelters against their educated 'natural' masters-on-the coasts.

In the old days when a ruling class was challenged by its peasants, it would crush them militarily. Today 'we' go after their civilizational (race) and social reproductive (sex/family) legitimacy and credibility using minorities as misère hand trumps, which is what happened and continues to do so, in what is in effect a cultural revolution being run in very much the Red Guard style; the only difference being that there was and is no requirement for a central party apparatus to orchestrate it.

The fundamental business of the means of social reproduction and administration has long been privatized and been steadily eating out our traditional governancing institutions for over 50 years, by the massively industrialized commercial marketing and fantasy consciousness manufacturers on the one side of the regime, and on the other, the postmodernist trained, subjectivity validating and objectivity denying Woke graduate streams that have colonized and taken over not just all levels of democratic and bureaucratic administration, but the entire services industries infrastructure that constitutes 'post-industrial' society.

Indulgence capitalism operates very much like a jewel wasp and all sides of its administration operate in the same way. Hardly anyone escapes.

In the Golden Gulag, there are no guards or fences. The prisoners cannot bring themselves to leave. They are kept there by visions of paradise, brought to them by the proud sponsors.... And those visions can be anything at all, no matter how nutso they are, because the intellectually rational defenses that might provide some critical insights have been dissolving for decades.
