A jolt of lightning cut the sky in half and the Monkey arose grumbling. Monkey turned hastily to its night lamp and flicked it on. The cave's emptiness reflected in the dim light. Monkey sighed, irritably, and fell back to sleep. A murmur in the dark bounced of the wet walls. Monkey snored. The rain splattered on the ground. The murmur became a shadow.
