Love Birds At Christmas

“they’re coming now,” he said
she smiled, “i hear them, too,
they’ve come to take our home away,
as people often do.”

perched together, heads adorned,
snuggling - oh so tight -
they sat and smiled and swayed and sang
all through the snowy night.

“they’re almost here,” he softly said,
she smiled, “i hear them, too,
and when they’re done, we’ll take off,
just like we always do.”
