Last one. Good Luck Everyone! Crazy song! Love it! " Tell my mother, Tell my Father, I did the best I can.. He has the best voice beside Gord, and Such a wonderfully written song. So many people can relate. I might be me. I might be a dream. But I always be a shadow. Cast in the light. Of what you wanted me to be. StaiNe Please don't cry one tear for me I'm not afraid of what I have to say This is my one and only voice so listen close It's only for today Lyrics Artist: Shinedown Album: The Sound of Madness (2008) Genre: Grunge/Rock/Alternative Lead Vocals: Brent Smith This is the most popular song for this band. It's in Guitar Hero, promotion for second season of The Terminator, and WWE in 2008. I can play it on the game it's so well balanced. The video is such a show of daily life and enjoyment or not so much. He looks he actually singing, which I found some band leaders not so much. The chorus, and the drums, sing along I do every time. I have a friend at work who loves this band too, and like I said before later in life but worth it. |
Now maybe, I didn't mean to treat you bad But I did it anyway and then maybe Some would say your life was sad But you lived it anyway and so maybe… Artist: Candlebox Album: Candlebox(1993) Genre: Grunge/Post Grunge Their most popular song. "Friends stand around and watch you crumble" A tribute Song. I enjoy this song, how he drags each last word out. I find myself singing this a lot, along with Temple Of The Dog. I wish I had found this band years ago, but oh well I do now. Very much still grunge. It's about treating friends bad, and them still being your friend. Filmed in an abandoned schoolhouse, and has some imagery that is dark. I don't get sad listening to this, as I think that's its intent, I just enjoy it. I never realized it but my soundtrack is quite sad. |
How do you cool your lips, after a summer's kiss? How do you rid the sweat, after the body bliss? Lyrics Artist: Jann Arden Album: Living Under June(1994) Genre: Pop/Folk/Rock Awards: Juno Award for Single of the Year(1996) and 3 more' Jann is very active and has books, and shows. Very funny and that humor she has as helped me so much over the years, I really don't know what I'd do had it been different and not knowing this artist. She has had hard experiences too, and the humor she has and the sharing she's being doing caring for her mom, she's an incredible person. She got a lot of critics when she began singing about her weight and her mole, and it something she struggled with for a long time. I enjoy her singing, and her books are fantastic and her current show "Jann" is hilarious. I like the song, have the vinyl. I've listened to Jann Arden since I last was a member here, and this is somewhat sad, but her most popular. She still tours, and the other activities like I've said are just too funny. I have a few books, and two of Rick Mericer books, he's funny too. Ever need a laugh, I'm game. "It's a culture fog." |
I'm tired of being what you want me to be Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface Don't know what you're expecting of me Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes… Lyrics Artist: Linkin Park Album: Meteora (2003) Genre: Nu rock/Pop/Alternative/Indie/Emo/Rock Lead Vocals: Chester Bennington Jay Z (American rapper) I learned the video was done the cathedral in Prague, and a nearby school, then because Chester was suffering back pain and stomach pain they recorded again with him later. This is absolutely in your face for sounds, I have always enjoyed it, my son Jordan too. The turn table, the electric guitar, everything sounds full and well used. A wonderful mixture of singing, instruments rap. The video is good too. Song is about growing up and the expectations we have mentally, and how we wage that mental war with ourselves sometimes losing. |
Oh, you It's for you Only you It's for you I'll never know, I'll never care, I'll never believe my people I'll tell you what I say I'll never lie, I'll never try, I'll never cry for you people I'll push you, push away Lyrics Band: Candlebox (formed in 1990 in Seattle, Washington) Album: Candlebox(1993) Genre: Metal/Rock Lead Vocals: Kevin Martin I found this band way later in life and defiantly missed out. Right now I have four of their songs on my daily Spotify list, but this is the favorite,. The electric guitar run gives me chills its so fantastic! It's about decisions and addiction and that battle so many fight with. I think Kevin has a great voice and it just captivates me. |
Now that she's back in the atmosphere With drops of Jupiter in her hair She acts like summer and walks like rain Reminds me that there's a time to change, Lyrics Band: Train Album: Drops of Jupiter(2001) Genre: Pop/Rock Lead Vocals: Patrick Monahan Awards: Best Rock Song Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocal(s) Background Vocals, Guitars, Bass: Charlie Colin Rob Hotchkiss Jimmy Stafford Piano: Chuck Leavell and many more. Great song, I enjoy the use of the solar system to describe the mother, and how her spirit resides above us. I do have a keen interest in cosmology in general so this songs always stayed with with me and its very easy to sing along with. I watch a lot of YouTube on the planets and have books both on space and theories involves in it. I never knew this was written for his mom, and I took more for a "flakey" person in a relationship gone to space. It's funny what we remember for music, and I had forgot about this one, but I do enjoy it, and know it word for word. I like how it starts quiet like and then the instruments start up after he's sung a few lines. |
Enjoy! Awa, a place to stay · Get your booty on the floor tonight. Make my day. Awa, a place to stay. Get your booty on the floor tonight. Make my day Band: Techotronic Album: Pump Up The Jam (1998) Vocals: Ya Kid D (Manuela Barbara Kamosi Moaso Djogi) Genre: House/Hip House/Eurodance/New Beat Songwriters: Manuela Kamosi Farley "Jackmaster Funk"(uncredited) Thomas D. Quincey also known as Jo Bogaert Belgian musician, songwriter, and record producer Jo Bogaert had previously had a few successes in his native Belgium. The video shows model Felly Kilingi lip-syncing. Released in August 1998 is was a instant success in Europe and US a year later. I remember going to a local club on Sundays to dance, and this would play and I'd be on a speaker crazy happy. They'd open it, to let teens dance and make extra money. It isn't done anymore and it's kind of sad. Vocals Ya Kid D was still in school at the time and they wanted a face to the song so that's why that model was chosen, and some of it instant success, later fans knew who it was singing "Pump it up". I started walking every day when Covid hit cause I was so bored and lonely, and I still do, the benefits are just too good. This is my starting song to get my walking pace fast, I don't stroll. I've gone from a size 10 to a size 4. Haha! Great memories as a teen, still use it, I don't think anyone doesn't know it. A later release {https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pump_Up_the_Jam_(album)) all that's I said and credits only the rapper Ya Kid D. I graduated in 98, this was very much in all out lives. |
In your head, in your head Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie-ie, oh Band: The Cranberries Album: No Need to Argue(1994) Genre: Grunge/Pop/Alternative Rock Lead Vocals: Dolores O'Riordan Written for the conflict happening in her home country, but so relative for today turmoil. I found this: There were a lot of bombs going off in London and I remember this one time a child was killed when a bomb was put in a rubbish bin – that's why there's that line in the song, 'A child is slowly taken'. [ ... ] We were on a tour bus and I was near the location where it happened, so it really struck me hard – I was quite young, but I remember being devastated about the innocent children being pulled into that kind of thing. So I suppose that's why I was saying, 'It's not me' – that even though I'm Irish it wasn't me, I didn't do it. Because being Irish, it was quite hard, especially in the UK when there was so much tension. — Dolores O'Riordan in 2017, on writing "Zombie" There is so much war. PTSD, the long term effects of it all. I can't remember how I ever found this, but know it's been around for a long time, I remember my cassette player with this song. I suffer from PTSD from what happened with my child, and although this is a protest song, I can't help but enjoy the simple message in it. I always enjoyed zombies media and when I learned this song, I think I liked it so much because of that. War is real, and I think we forget that. I love the drums! She (Dolores) was scheduled to do another version with another band "Bad Wolves", and died that day. She had a very unique voice. Oh La La! Artist: Bad Wolves(2017) Genre: Heavy Metal/Hard Rock A great tribute and version of the original. Glad I found it. Heavy is always great. |
I spoke to God today and She said that She's ashamed What have I become? What have I done? I spoke to the devil today and he swears he's not to blame And I understood 'cause I feel the same Lyrics Band: Five Finger Death Punch Album: The Wrong side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 1(2013) Genre: Metal/Groove Metal/Rock Lead Vocals: Ivan Moody Backup Vocals and Lead Guitar: Jason Hook I really like this song, good old Spotify suggestion a few years ago. I really don't have any other experience with this band. Judaist Priest sang the first song in this studio album and it sold over a million copies. Powerful song, and I like the reference of God being female and Devil being male. It has wonderful lyrics. You feel this song, it like a poem put to music. The reference of songs like this are really needed today, and I feel we are so close to another world war, and it won't be like the last two. We forget and make the same mistakes over and over. Blame each other, take no responsivity for our own decisions. I'll admit it takes some repeat listening to get used to lead vocals, I mean he is good but sounds like he struggles a little, and it could be he doesn't have the range I enjoy with other bands. This is a hard month, but enjoyable as I said before I have not thought this much about what I listen to. It's great self reflection as music can be so much to each different person. |
Band:Nickleback Album: All The Right Reasons (2005) Look at this photograph Every time I do, it makes me laugh How did our eyes get so red? And what the hell is on Joey's head?… Lyrics Genre: Post Rock/Grunge Awards: MuchMusic Video Award for Best Rock Video This band is always close to home, east coast baby, and oh I enjoy them. The first concert I ever got rained on, so hard I paid too much to wear a garbage bag, and learned sandals don't pass at outdoor concerts. I also came to the opinion that outdoor concerts sound better than indoor. They formed in Alberta Canada, but came to other side a lot in the late 90's when my island was more musically diverse. Chad is so easy to sing along with, and as nostalgia drives a lot of our behaviors this song is spot on. I have thought about being younger and the plans I had them that just didn't pan out. This is not their most popular song, and they've grown to more hard metal genre now, less grunge, It is my favorite of this band. |
