Clever Poem About #COVID Experience |
Blame It on the COVID In two thousand nineteen, COVID came to be. It spread worldwide to test our humanity. The virus laid illness on even healthy life And brought emotional and economic strife. People died without their loved one's goodbye or hug Because of this new extremely contagious bug. Blame it on the COVID. Many did what science told us to do, While some joked about the Chinese flu. We zoomed for our work, church and classes. Toilet paper was hoarded by the masses. What seemed odd turned into a daily routine. Isolation took madness to the extreme. Blame it on the COVID. The disease brought to light Some things that just weren't right, Including lack of medical resources, Internet and technological choices. So, blame that on the COVID. Heroes were not the Marvel characters we were used to. Scientists, health staff, teachers, grocers came to the rescue. Due to COVID we joined in the fight together -- Masking, testing, vaxing to make our lives better. With care, we tried to do all we could And for miracles, we prayed for God's Good. Still, not everybody followed the rules of the game, But they knew exactly what instigator to blame. They blamed it on the COVID. While some people drank the bleach, A new movement hit the street. They shouted for justice for all to see And the need to breathe without brutality. A few blamed it on the C-C-Cameras. When we look back on history What will our own reflections be? Those who respected others and showed compassion Or folks who followed a political fashion -- While blaming it on the COVID? Some say what you survive can make you stronger. Praise to vaccines 'cause I couldn't have gone much longer Watching sickness, death, grief, anguish, fear and pain, I'm lucky to try living "normal" again. So, I am proclaiming this verse to let you ALL know it. Despite yoga and inner peace, I still blame EVERYTHING on the COVID. Namaste. |
