CRIES OF WORRIES
In my motherland
Desperation has covered everywhere
Cries from innocent citizens
Mourning for hunger and joblessness
Where will come the savior?


The economic crisis is a song of the day
Since the cost of living is at the peak
The price of basic commodities
Food, shelter and clothing
Increases day and night


The gap between the dynasty
And a common mwananchi
Is like heaven and earth
Wen poverty strikes the nation
Survival is only for the fittest


Those in government only offers
Fake and unfulfilled promises
Satisfying and enriching themselves
With public resources
And un-taxable income


Jobs only offered to poor citizens
After giving "something small" to leaders
Since with somebody at the top
A poor may get himself somewhere




The same citizen woke up
Before the early birds catches the worm
With high hopes they queued
Ready to elect the so called "prominent leaders"


With great passion to enjoy
The fruits of the announced agenda
With ululations the poor citizens
Celebrated the won elections


Unfortunate the excitements they had,
Has changed into bitter pills
What a fateful and disappointments
Mwananchi is facing in Kenya today!
