I see you my child of wonder,
peeking out from somewhere under.
Or hiding in our safe place,
fearing the evil one’s embrace.
Your voice still matters,
but is oft lost in the clatters.
Clatters of a modern life,
filled with an adult world strife.
You were the last of innocence,
your loss no coincidence.
You were lost in a great pain,
our logic could not explain.
Life had finally overflowed,
overflowed and left us to explode.
Exploded into tiny pieces,
destroyed our minds deepest reaches.
But you were not lost my friend,
needing someone to defend.
Someone to defend your honor,
from being abused by a father.
Unable to stop the advance,
of a mother wanting romance.
You hid in the corners my mind,
not knowing I was really blind.
Blind to the inner yearning,
of a mind that was burning.
But that mind at last extinguished,
and hidden treasure relinquished.
The treasure of a mind restored,
and memories long ignored.
And to once again rejoice,
in the sound of My Little Voice.
