First Fire

27 lines

Jon Jacobson
Was an enthusiastic youth
Having just graduated
From high school
In Medford, Oregon.

He was reporting to work
At the firehouse
It was his first day
On the job.

It was a hot sunny day
He rode on the back
Of the truck
Enjoying the breeze.

Heading to his first fire
Try to extinguish the fire
He saved a young woman’s life
And her cat.

She rewarded him
With a kiss,
Later, she became his wife.

Not bad for his first day
As a firefighter.
