A pondering upon death. |
Remember death It puts things in perspective Remember death As shrouds of cloth will one day cover you Your body will soon be decay But life will continue And it will be fine without you One day, tears will be smiles And happiness will lye where pain was once felt For those around But Remember death Because it's your body that is at the final rest There's no return No going back Just open ends Before your last breathe What will you speak? Ill or a beautiful speech Heart taking expedition The final space in between the ground of our feet And the core of heat That's all that will be left of you And of me A soul that has escaped But is it truly free? Remember there's no going back Did you succeed? You still have this time This chance Don't let it waste Every breath that is breathed Has to have purpose Needs to have meaning Let that taste, sit on your tongue Your Lips moist with words of love Of praise Before the day they are sealed and it becomes empty space Fill the joy within others With food and drink And remember a smile is free Because one day while your body is laid bare The only thing left will be the remainder of your deeds Your social media? Your feeds? What good will they be? One day you will be a vague memory Replaced with a time that doesn't end And soon a new generation that will live So what is it? What are you leaving? What will follow you to the grave Before you soul is questioned And either ripped from you Or pulled gently What will await you? Do you see? Our home is one That we will all meet But are we ready? To truly be free And the utterance of our words To be what frees Let what we recite be The declaration of one the truth above all There is no God but One Islam is our deen And we beleive That Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last messenger to be |
